Where is everything?

Is this your first time in the Ahrntal valley and you’re still learning your way around? Here are some handy hints to help you find some of the important local services.

Pharmacy

The only pharmacy in the Ahrntal valley is in Luttach. It’s on the edge of the valley, the second to last house in the village, on the main street. Tel.: 0474 671086
There is also a pharmacy in Sand in Taufers.

Doctor

Dr. Hermann Lunger is the community doctor in the Ahrntal valley. His practice is in St. Johann, No. 139b, on the main street, next to the Volksbank. Tel.: 0474 671239

Shopping

Hopfgartner general store in Luttach (also sells newspapers and tobacco products), on the main street on the right hand side. The Eurospin Discount Market is opposite the pharmacy.

Bakery

Leimgruber Bakery (with a bar), on the main street towards Luttach, around 300m away from our entrance.

Eating

Ahrerwirt pizzeria in St. Johann opposite the church or Pizzeria Schönberg Weißenbach or the speciality restaurant in Steinhaus.

Excursions

For an afternoon excursion : Hofschenke Eder. Follow the road away from our farm for around 20 minutes (on foot) and enjoy a „Brettljause“ – a local dish of cold meats – or a piece of cake, accompanied by beautiful views of the Dreitausender mountains opposite and the villages below.
